Description

Black and white photograph taken by Cyril Arapoff showing the view from 'No.8 Pier' Salford Docks looking across to Trafford Wharf on the Manchester Ship Canal. One of 'Manchester Liners' vessels is discharging grain at the tower of No.1 Grain Elevator, which was destroyed by German incendiary bombs during Christmas 1940. Beyond a ship is berthed on Manchester Drydocks Jetty.
