Description

Black and white photograph taken by Cyril Arapoff of the view from the Mersey shoreline looking downstream toward Runcorn/Widnes Transporter Bridge and Britannia Railway Viaduct carrying the LNWR main line from Liverpool to Crewe. To the left is a 'tidal opening' originally constructed to allow Manchester Ship Canal Canal replenishment during high tides, while on the shoreline Lancashire Fishing 'Nobby's are beached.
