Pair of Samuel Barlow narrowboats entering a lock at Berkhamsted

Black and white photograph taken by H C Casserley of the "Samuel Barlow Coal Co Ltd" motor narrowboat "Admiral" (both written on the cabin along with "Coal Contractors", "Birmingham, No 45", "GU.12157" and "Registered at Daventry No 524") about to enter a lock at Berkhamsted. Taken from the side of the canal looking towards the back end of "Admiral", the front of 'Rosie Agnes', the butty it is towing is visible on the left of the photograph. There is a man stood by the cabin steering the boat and an open lock gate in front of the boat.
