'Columba' at Hawkesbury Turn on the Oxford Canal

Black and white photograph showing the working narrowboat 'Columba' going under a bridge at Hawkesbury Turn on its first trip under Sir John Knill's ownership. Taken from the side of the canal showing the back end of the boat, Jim Jackson is steering the boat. The boat is still decorated in the colours of its previous owners and on the side of the cabin "H. Dean & Son. Manchester" is written. [Shows the boat before docking and improvements were carried out on it].
