Sir John Knill's narrowboat 'Columba' turning at Hawkesbury on the Oxford Canal
Black and white photograph showing the working narrowboat turning around at Hawkesbury. [The turning of the boat was hindered by a sticky valve]. Taken looking towards the back end of the boat, on the side of the cabin "John Knill London" and "Columba" are visible. John Knill can be seen (through smoke coming from the chimney) behind the cabin steering the boat. Behind "Columba" is Joe Skinner's boat 'Friendship', and there are people stood by canal in front of some houses.
