CRT/MANCHESTEROILREFINERY
Photographs illustrating transport of Manchester Oil Refineries equipment manufactured by Babcock and Wilcox
'There are thirteen in all and they were discovered by Martin Bryan CRT volunteer at Gloucester. They were taken by a commercial photographer that I cannot now trace although Babcock & Wilcox who made the column are, of course, still in business. They were taken at the beginning of the 1950s on the Bridgewater Canal just beside Barton Aqueduct and show a cracking tower being moved from a Pickfords vehicle across the canal for installation in Barton Oil Terminal.'
