Description
Plan "drawn from a survey...taken by Mr Ellison in 1736 & corrected from a view & observations taken in the year 1766 with a scheme for rendering the same navigable by John Smeaton FRS". There is also a "Plan of the River Ure & Ouse from Ripon to York" with some details extracted from a survey made by Palmer & Co in 1725. With reference to the proposed works and other notes. The plan has a decorated title with pictorial detail for towns and halls. The plan has a British Transport Commission Historical Relics Section Railway Museum York label.
