Views showing the northern portals of the Brindley and Telford tunnels, Harecastle Bridge no 131 and Kidsgrove Railway bridge beyond. Boats can be seen waiting and entering the tunnel including the electric tunnel tug, a small tug attached to the tunnel tug , loaded narrowboats including a John Green of Macclesfield pair, including the motorboat 'Sheila' and an Anderton Carrying Co buttyboat 'Margaret'. Adayboat can be seen used to block off the entrance to the older tunnel with a walkway along the hold
