Harecastle Tunnel at Kidsgrove on the Trent & Mersey Canal

Description

Views showing the tunnel portals with a footway over a sunk narrowboat with a 'starvationer' beyond where two small boys are playing, Harecastle Bridge no 131 and Kidsgrove Railway Bridge. Many boats can be seen including British Waterways motorboats 'Rudd', Clent', 'Trout' and 'Otter' and butties, 'Raven' and 'Kidsgrove', all appear to be loaded and waiting to pass through the tunnel. Boatmen and women and a dog can be seen on the boats. Also a view showing a canal milepost 'Preston Brook 30 miles'
