Maintenance work on the Oxford Canal at Hawkesbury

Description

Views showing works to replace a lock gate at Hawkesbury lock, sheerlegs can be seen in position over the lock lifting a new lock gate into position from a motorboat [ex FMC Greyhound]. Numerous boatmen including Joe Skinner can be seen watching the work, numerous pairs of boats can be seen moored above the lock including the AA Wander pair 'William' and 'Enid' and the Samuel Barlow Coal Co motorboat 'Kent' with its butty. Also a view of the horseboat 'Friendship' moored outside the Greyhound Inn.
