Narrowboats in the top lock at Stoke Bruerne on the Grand Union Canal
Description
Black and white photograph showing a pair of Fellows, Morton & Clayton Limited narrowboats in the lock, they are the butty 'Elsie' and a motor. There are people stood on and beside the boats, including Jack James (who has just been awarded 3rd prize in a lock competition). There are terraced cottages and the old grain mill (now the National Waterways Museum) visible in the background.
