New wharf under contruction at West Drayton on the Grand Junction Canal
Description
Black and white photograph looking across the canal, in the foreground is a barge with "Odell" written on the bow. Next to the barge is a "Grand Junction Canal Company, Bulbourne." narrowboat with a steam engine in the hold. The wharf construction (for Hayes Develoment company) is visible in the background with numerous workers present. In the distance there are industrial buildings and a steamer on the canal.
