Boat strike at Braunston on the Grand Junction Canal

Description

Black and white photograph showing groups of boat people and police stood by the canal and on a bridge during the boat strike of 1923. Shows the "Fellows, Morton & Clayton Ltd" narrowboat "Speedwell", "No 2", which would have been locked together with others on the canal. The photograph is marked "H161". [The boat keys were thrown into the canal to stop the police moving the boats. The strike was by employees of Fellows, Morton & Clayton Limited].
