Fellows, Morton & Clayton Limited steamer 'Phoenix' being gauged at Buckby top lock
Description
Black and white photograph showing "Phoneix" ("No 54", "Registered at Birmingham No 886") in the lock being gauged by the lock-keeper who is wearing knickerbockers. There is a man stood on the cabin of the steamer and engineman Henry Millard is stood beside the canal wearing a white jacket. The lock-keepers cottage is on the opposite side of the canal and there is a bridge with a house next to it in the distance.
