Description
Black and white photograph taken from a bank between the canal and the River Irwell, the canal has been partially emptied. There are industrial buildings visible including those belonging to the Electro Magnesium Company.
August 2017 - it is believed that the canal was drained during, or pror to, World War 2 to hinder German bombers, and that the canal was culverted so water was still to be had at Ordsall.
