Unloading barges by grab crane in Liverpool on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The bridge in the background is Atholl Street, and the unloading site is the gas works.
Description
Black and white photograph taken from above the canal, the crane is behind a wall to the side of the canal with the bucket hovering over the barge. There are other barges on the canal which appear to be loaded with coal. The canal is surrounded by industrial buildings and there is a bridge visible in the distance.
