"Tunnell [sic] End, Barnton"
Description
Black and white photograph taken at the end of the tunnel at Barnton on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Taken from the side of the canal, there are a pair of horse boats on the canal, the Anderton Company boats "Umbria" and "Nellie", which are loaded with potteries crates. On the side of the canal there are boatpeople in traditional dress & clogs, and a horse in a bobbin harness. There are also several houses visible around the canal. At the bottom of the photograph is written "H Hitchen Northwich" and "Tunnel End, Barnton".
