"The Canal Wharf, Stone"
Description
Black and white photograph showing the canal wharf at Stone on Trent. Taken from the towpath looking across the canal towards several buildings, these include the offices of the Trent and Mersey Canal Company at Westbridge House and the home of the company's chief agent. On the canal the North Staffordshire Railway Boat number 33 can be seen in front of the offices. In the distance there is a bridge over the canal and industrial buildings and a smoking chimney are visible. At the bottom of the photograph is written "The Canal Wharf, Stone" and "Photo by P.C. Dutton, Stone".
