Wartime women trainees and a film crew preparing to make a film using narrowboats

Black and white photograph, the narrowboats shown being used are the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company Limited boats "Battersea" (the name, "Reg at Brentford. No 592" and underneath "G. U. C. C. C" and "112" are visible on the cabin) and 'Parvo'. Photograph taken looking down from a canal bridge, there are people stood on the boats and by the side of the canal. Photograph taken in late September 1945. For more information on film see "Narrow Boat" magazine, Summer 2013 July 2017 - information received advises that "Pavo" has been shortened and is now a 61ft long motor boat in private ownership.
