Wartime women trainees sheeting up narrowboats at Bulls Bridge
Description
Black and white photograph showing women trainees including Sonia South and 2 Broughton Leigh sisters sheeting up at Bulls Bridge. The narrowboats shown are the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company Limited the butty "Cetus" with Zoe and Bythesea Boughton-Leigh. On the 'Ascot', which is loaded with aluminium bars are Mary Vanderpump, Emma Smith and Elizabeth Glaisyer. Sonia South is standing on the 'Ceres'. Staged photograph for the purpose of recruiting.
