Papers used in the appeal against the original judgement, including legal documents relating to the trial and other information relevant to the failure of the North West Quay. Also includes copies of historical papers relating to the docks' development, such as plans and agreements with Commercial Railway and to build a line to the docks (1835, 1838). There are also copies of correspondence regarding Cohen's lease and the dredging of the docks (1922-1945) and correspondence between Cohen's solicitors (Harris, Chetham & Co., London) and the solicitor of the Regent's Docks & Canal Co. (Harold Benjamin, London) regarding the case.
