Description
August 2021 - information received suggests that this view is taken from Eccles Bridge at Hawk Green looking towards Marple with the newly built Goyt Mill behind the photographer. The date is c1906. Note the boathouse for a skiff which is typical of a number on this canal. The Great Central Railway welcomed leisure use and the income it brought. (Web sub. no. 71677)
