Ovaltine boats at Market Harborough Rally on the Leicester Arm of the Grand Union Canal

Description

Black and white photograph taken from above the canal showing the cabins and sterns of a pair of Ovaltine boats operated by Mr Stokes. The boats are the motor 'Mimas' and the butty 'Ray'. Both have "Drink delicious Ovaltine" painted on the side of the cabin, Mimas is "GU 12442", "Registered at Rickmansworth No. 46", and 'Ray' is "Registered at Rickmansworth No. 61". There is another narrowboat behind the pair which appears to have been converted into a leisure boat. Mr Colin Scrivener collection
