Pair of Samuel Barlow narrowboats and a converted ice- boat at Bulls Bridge on the Grand Union Canal.

Description

Black and white photograph showing a converted ice-boat [possibly Tycho] and a pair of moored Samuel Barlow Coal Company Limited narrowboats at Bulls Bridge Junction, where the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal leaves the main line under the bridge. The pair of narrowboats are the motor 'Wasp' (with "Daventry No 484" visible on the side of the cabin) and a butty with "Birmingham," and fleet "No. 109" visible on the side of the cabin. Photograph taken from beside the cabin showing the sterns of the narrowboats, the ice-boat is travelling away from the camera. There is a bridge over the canal in the distance.
