Empty barge at the Barton Swing Aqueduct
Description
Black and white photograph taken by Cyril Arapoff of an empty wide boat exiting from the south side of Barton Swing Aqueduct on the Bridgewater Canal. Behind the wide boat, on the north bank of the Manchester Ship Canal, can be seen the hydraulic pump house and acumulator tower to operate the swing bridge and aqueduct machinery.
