Comprehensive Engineering Survey Report [for the Kennet and Avon Canal]
Detailed survey of the waterway, including the location, description and comments on the condition of structures and topographical features, such as aqueducts, bridges, banks, cuttings, culverts, ditches, feeders, fences, hedges and walls, weirs, mining subsidence, locks, pumping stations, sluices and tunnels. Also includes width and depth of channel. Each feature is referenced with an Ordnance Survey sheet number relating to the accompanying plan volume. Includes stretch from Reading to Hanham. Covers Engineering Area: Gloucester (no. 6) and Engineering Section: Millbridge to Bath (Centre West). Partially duplicated by BW167/17/4/1 and duplicated by BW167/17/2/51; see those versions for plans. Plan volume: sheets; scale 6 inches to 1 mile.
