Standard size Trent Bars in the new lock at Newark
November 2018 - information received suggests that these are Trent size barges, and that the photograph was taken in 1952, the year of the opening of the new lock. The old lock, and previous bottleneck, is on the right. The towing barge is the former Trent Navigation Co. "Barlock" with three dumb (unpowered) barges (82 feet 6 inches x fourteen feet 6 inches).
