Description

Collection includes Bill Leathwoods research and observations on tugs working the Bridgewater Canal and Manchester Ship Canal. There are some photographs of Mersey flat 'Daresbury', jigger flat 'John',model of flat 'Wesley',converted Bridgewater barge 'Black Abbot', launch of the 'Ruth Bate' in 1958 at Abel's Yard, Runcorn, a Weaver packet boat,'Betelgeuse',flats on the Black Scar canal at Warrington'Arthur Sinclair' - a UMNC lightship built at Northwich in 1901 having a Mersey flat style hull.
