Description
View shows a boy standing on the gunwhale of a loaded coalboat, leaning across to pull the balance beam of the lock gate to open it. A boatman and horse can be seen on the towpath, another dayboat can be seen ahead of the lock and moored pairs of narrowboats can be seen in the distance.
