Trent barge 'Tees' towing dumb barges past Newark Castle on the River Trent
Description
Black and white photograph taken from beside the river, shows "Tees" in the foreground towing 2 loaded dumb barges behind it. The castle is on the opposite bank, there are other buildings visible in the background.
There is extant a brochure by Cammell Laird, from which these and other pictures are taken. Trent Navigation Company 'doctored' the passing Newark Castle photo by replacing the tug with one of their own, unfortunately it looks as though the tug, like a motorcycle, is really leaning into the bend!
