Rochdale Canal
BW192/3/2/1/24/7
Rebuilding a lock on the Rochdale Canal
Black and white photograph looking along Linnet (or Kay Lane) Lock 64 by Firwood Mill. There are numerous workmen in and beside the lock posing for the photograph, some are wearing clogs. The lock chamber has been emptied and there are materials and a lock gate on the canal bed, above the lock there are overhead gantries. There are narrowboats and boatwomen visible on the canal in the background, and there are industrial buildings around the area.
