Thomas Lloyd of Lymm was the last of the Lloyd family to have worked in an unbroken line on the Bridgewater Canal since John Lloyd the boatbuilder employed by the James Brindley at the cutting of the canal. he and other family members worked on the canal as canal inspectors or works supervisors
