Samuel Barlow butty 'Rosie Agnes' on the canal at Berkhamsted
Description
Black and white photograph taken by H C Casserley of the Samuel Barlow Coal Company Limited butty "Rosie Agnes" (the name is written on the back of the boat, on the side of the cabin is written "Registered at Daventry, No 468, OC.5621", and underneath this "Samuel Barlow Coal Co Ltd", "Coal Contractors", "Birmingham, No 23.") on the Grand Union Canal at Berkhamsted. Taken showing a close up of the back end of the boat where wash-boards have been fitted to retain the coal cargo. There is a person stood by the door to the cabin and a decorated watercan on top of the cabin.
